New discoveries

Anjali helped discover a bacterium called Fusobacterium, commonly found in the mouth, that can destroy head and neck cancer cells.

Following the discovery, the lab conducted tests and found that infecting cancer cells with this bacterium led to a remarkable 70–99% reduction in viable cancer cells.

This breakthrough was made possible through your generous donations.

Portrait of former Guy

Gary, former patient at Guy's Cancer

Robotic surgery that saved Gary's life

The advances in care, that Guy’s Cancer Charity help to support, meant Gary’s surgeon could use robotic-assisted keyhole surgery to remove the tumour without damaging the surrounding area.

The operation he had was a success and Gary is now in remission.

I’m so grateful this technology was available to me. It helps cancer patients like me recover quicker and lead longer and fuller lives.
