What is Cancer Hair Care?

Cancer Hair Care is the UK’s leading hair loss support charity. The compassionate team offers expert advice on all aspects of hair loss, hair loss prevention and hair care, along with practical guidance to help patients navigate the physical and emotional challenges of cancer-related hair loss.

Their services are available before, during and after treatment, with specialist support every step of the way. Some of the team have experienced hair loss and cancer treatment themselves, giving them a unique understanding of how to help others on their hair loss journey.

Providing personalised hair loss support 

Thanks to your generosity, we’re funding Cancer Hair Care services to help even more patients receive personalised hair loss support at Guy’s Cancer. This includes free hair care packs, expert advice on scalp cooling procedures, practical tutorials on scarves, hats and headwear, as well as tips for using wig grip, Velcro fringes and false eyelashes. Free dolls are also provided to help patients explain their hair loss to children or grandchildren. 

Support and information are offered for all hair types, ethnicities, genders and ages, with a focus on improving access for those who may not currently use the service – whether that’s due to financial hardship or the need for additional, culturally appropriate resources. 

24/7 Cancer hair loss support

The compassionate Cancer Hair Care team provides free individual consultations and workshops designed to help patients feel more confident and in control. Patients also have access to 24/7 support via phone, video, and e-consultation, meaning there is always someone ready to listen and help.
