Become a charity champion

Help support more advances in cancer care by getting involved in fundraising activities, events and volunteering.

Donations play a big part in bringing innovative ideas to life at Guy’s Cancer.

Whether that’s funding an app to determine if someone has an inherited risk of developing cancer, or work to improve treatments and minimise the terrible side-effects for people with head and neck cancer.

However much time you can spare, there are plenty of ways to help. Here are just some of the ways you can get involved:

  • Become the go-to charity representative in your team, signposting to information such as how to deal with donations, and access funds.
  • Help us promote your colleagues’ important work by finding case studies or quotes demonstrating how charity funding has made a difference.
  • Lend a hand with events such as hospital tours for donors, spread the word about fundraising events, or help at information stalls to promote the charity.
  • Raise awareness in your department about the kind of work we can fund and how to access funding.

Email us for more information. Note you need to be a Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust staff member to join the programme.

Once you sign up you will receive an induction session and monthly emails with opportunities. You will also be invited to join our Facebook Group – it’s a great way to get to know the other Charity Champions and to share inspiring stories.
